Prolonged shutdown of factories in China and consequent interruption of supply following the coronavirus epidemic, will cause a 2.3% drop in the global smartphone market. Factory shutdown, component shortages,logistics and travel restrictions will create barriers for smartphone vendors to produce handsets and deploy new devices. However, the market is expected to rebound in 2021, with 5G smartphones. In addition, the demand shock from China, will be mitigated by the end of the year with the government support.
